Our future generations, they will forget us.

“Because we don’t think about future generations, they will never forget us.” – Henrik Tikkanen

Today I was told of this quote and was informed that a young activist was leaving our Blogger’s group because she wanted to reach a much younger crowd. She made a decision to leave a group of “older generation” activist.

I am the basis of many years of activism.  Our life experience is enriched with all of our accomplishments.  The 1960’s the Protest of the Vietnam War and Women’s Lib Movement and so many more I’m not to get into.

I agree that if you target the youth of America a change will come. But that youth wants to hear you and not be playing games on a Wii or out running with gangs.  So I leave you with some of my favorite quotes:

Our children may save us if they are taught to care properly for the planet; but if not, it may be back to the Ice Age or the caves from where we first emerged. Then we’ll have to view the universe above from a cold, dark place. No more jet skis, nuclear weapons, plastic crap, broken pay phones, drugs, cars, waffle irons, or television. Come to think of it, that might not be a bad idea. ~Jimmy Buffet, Mother Earth News, March-April 1990

I have two doctors, my left leg and my right. ~G.M. Trevelyan

I wish her the best in all her  future endeavors. The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence.

A life without cause is a life without effect. ~Barbarella

  1. Though there may be gaps between generations…there is always much to learn from each. Thank you B!
