Prayer For Tokitae

Today has been a hard day. Lots of news about Lolita’s toothache. Its been 20 years that Hugo her tank mate passed away now all eyes on Miami Seaquarium wondering about Lolita’s health. I had to do something to honor her. I have made 2 videos of her life in captivity.

A prayer for Lolita

In case you don’t know who “Lolita” or Tokitae is, Lolita is a  Killer whale, its not a real “killer or a whale”. Its the largest of the Dolphin family ~Orcinus orca.

Lolita was captured in the Pacific Northwest on August 8, 1970. Lolita, her capture and those of her family was horrendous to say the least. The whale catchers used an airplane from which they dropped bombs in order to corral the whales. But here, they say that a picture is worth a thousand words. I have no words left to tell her story.

Free Lolita Now”

“When we return wild animals to nature, we merely return them to what is already theirs. For man cannot give wild animals freedom they can only take it away.” ~ Jacques Cousteau~

As intelligent rational human beings we have a moral obligation to respect all life until then, Lolita will remain a slave to entertainment. Please do not buy a ticket to a marine theme animal park.

  1. Toki should not have the “slave for entertainment” attached to her name and it makes mad that she does! This animal should be freed and back with her family. Good post!
