The Winds of Change

The Winds of Change. © 2011

The winds of change are coming
they are coming  across the sea,
they are coming from far away
to a small town named Taiji.

The winds of change are bringing
to the shores of the cove in Taiji,
they bring the love from many people
for the whole wide world to see.

The winds of change are asking
the Fishermen of Taiji to open
their hearts, eyes and mind to
the change as it is meant to be.

The winds of change are praying
for a Positive change in Taiji.
The winds of change are saying
No more Dolphin slaughters,
Dolphins should Live free!

  1. Beautiful and Poignant Poem for Taiji. I like the way it tells the People of Taiji, that Change is Coming to Them regardless of their Desire to Stay with the Status Quo, and a Tradition that Does No One Good. The Money they Desire through the Sell of Dolphins will Not Buy them Peace.

    • Thank you Cheryl, the fisherman of Taiji are exposed and now the whole world knows of their activities. Feel free to share it, if you like. BTW I loved your Blessing prayer too.

  2. Beautiful!

  3. The Day that dolphins and whales can swim freely in the waters of Taiji are hope it that 2010/2011 is the last year for the drives.

    Beautiful poem Barbara

    • Thank you Jackie, I couldn’t get to sleep until I put the basis for the poem jotted down. Next morning a few drafts later…VOILA!
